Helicopter tours
To uncover the secrets that Maui has hidden deep in the rain forest behind the mountains, you must expose them from the air. Soaring through deep valleys with towering waterfalls and discovering the remote and rouged beauty that defines the Valley Isle can only be accomplished by helicopter.
Discover Maui on horseback
And what an adventure this is! So sit back and fasten your seat belt as you journey into the undiscovered Maui.
Horseback Riding Maui offers spectacular adventure rides through rugged ranch lands, into tropical forests, and to remote swimming holes. Piiholo Ranch, A working cattle ranch, owned by the kamaaina (longtime resident) Baldwin family, this is a horseback-riding adventure with a variety of different rides to suit your ability, from the morning picnic ride, a 3 1/2-hour ride on the ranch, with a picnic lunch to private rides, including working with the cowboys to round up the cattle,
If you're out in Hana, don't pass up the Maui Stables in Kipahulu Not only do they offer two rides daily through the mountains above Kipahulu Valley, but you also get a fantastic historical and cultural tour through the unspoiled landscape. It is an experience you will not forget.

Mendes Ranch & Trail Rides
The 300-acre Mendes Ranch is a real-life working cowboy ranch that has the essential elements of an earthly paradise -- rainbows, waterfalls, palm trees, coral-sand beaches, lagoons, tide pools, a rainforest, and its own volcanic peak (more than a mile high).
Allan Mendes, a third-generation wrangler, will take you from the edge of the rainforest out to the sea. On the way you'll cross tree-studded meadows, where Texas longhorns sit in the shade, and pass a dusty corral where Allan's father, Ernest, a champion roper, may be breaking in a wild horse
Maui sportfishing
Sportfishing Marlin (as big as 1,200 lb.), tuna, ono, and mahimahi await the baited hook in Maui's coastal and channel waters. No license is required; just book a sport-fishing vessel out of Lahaina or Maalaea harbors.
Most charter boats that troll for big-game fish carry a maximum of six passengers. These fishing vessels have been inspected and must meet rigorous criteria. Prices range from $850 to $950 for a full-day exclusive charter for up to six people; it's $599 to $750 for a half-day exclusive.
Scuba diving
Some people come to Maui for the sole purpose of plunging into the tropical Pacific and exploring the underwater world.
You can see the great variety of tropical marine life (more than 100 endemic species found nowhere else on the planet), explore sea caves, and swim with sea turtles and monk seals in the clear tropical waters off the island.
Everyone dives Molokini, a marine-life park and one of Hawaii's top dive spots. This crescent-shaped crater has three tiers of diving: a 35-foot plateau inside the crater basin (used by beginning divers and snorkelers), a wall sloping to 70 feet just beyond the inside plateau, and a sheer wall on the outside and backside of the crater that plunges 350 feet.
This underwater park is very popular thanks to calm, clear, protected waters and an abundance of marine life, from manta rays to clouds of yellow butterfly fish.
For personalized diving, Ed Robinson's Diving Adventures is the only Maui company rated one of Scuba Diver magazine's top five best dive operators for 7 years straight. Ed, a widely published underwater photographer, offers specialized charters for small groups.
World-class golf courses
In some circles, Maui is synonymous with golf. The island's world-famous golf courses start at the very northern tip of the island and roll right around to Kaanapali, jumping down to Kihei and Wailea in the south.
Golf at Kapalua
Any of these three courses will delight golfers of all skill levels. From the spectacular view to the tough greens, you will find the golf here an experience you will cherish for a lifetime.
With 3 championship courses to choose from, long known as among Hawaii's finest, Kapalua is a golfer's paradise! Kapalua's Village and Bay Courses, designed by Arnold Palmer, serve as nature's showcase for the unique terrain that characterizes this historic property-including pineapple fields, volcanic promontories, sunbleached beaches and rows of majestic Cook pines.
The Plantation Course, a third jewel in the resort's crown, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, features native vegetation offset by massive bunkers and deep valleys and home to the PGA Mercedes Championship.
All three golf courses are dedicated as "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries" by Audubon International, an environmental program endorsed by the United States Golf Association.
Driving the Road to Hana
Top down, sunscreen on, radio tuned to a little Hawaiian music on a Maui morning: It's time to head out to Hana along the Hana Highway, a wiggle of a road that runs along Maui's northeastern shore.
Going to Hana is about the journey, not the destination. There are wilder roads and steeper roads and even more dangerous roads, but in all of Hawaii, no road is more celebrated than this one.
It winds for 50 miles past taro patches, magnificent seascapes, waterfall pools, botanical gardens, and verdant rainforests, and it ends at one of Hawaii's most beautiful tropical places.
Ekahi Tours
Winding over steep cliffs and down into breathtaking valleys, the Road to Hana is everything you've heard about and more. Go with the company that "Treats You Like a Friend."
We'll spend a full day viewing magnificent waterfalls, lush rain forests, Maui's last lava flows, the rugged eastern coastline, and the arid southern coast.
Weather permitting, tour the the base of Haleakala (Maui's sleeping volcano) on dirt roads without bridges. We will stop at the Haleakala National Park in Kipahulu (Pools of 'Ohe'o), Tedeschi Winery, Heavenly Hana, South Wailua Falls, Keanae Peninsula and Charles Lindbergh's grave by request, in order to provide more personalized tours and blend in with the Hawaiian Community.
